We will achieve this through proper pre-conception counseling, personalized antenatal care, using special advanced components if necessary, then providing the best possible circumstances when the time of labor and delivery comes, 

The perinatal period is the most critical time of human life. Suboptimal conditions, any detrimental effect may have an impact on the whole life of the individual. Therefore, all efforts, knowledge are needed and sacrifices must be made when dealing with the birth of new lives.

1. Preparation for the pregnancy (preconceptional care)

Preconceptional gynecologic exam, pelvic scan and counseling
Preconceptional genetic counseling
Family planning and contraception advice

2. Protocol of personalized antenatal care

Antenatal classes (available weekly))

6-11 weeks

  • Booking visit, history taking
  • Speculum exam, HVS (high vaginal swab) for microscopy and/or culture, Pap smear, colposcopy and internal exam (if needed and agreed or requested)
  • Dating ultrasound scan
  • Booking blood tests 1. (full blood count, serum iron, liver function tests, blood sugar, uric acid, urea, creatinine, electrolytes, albumin)
  • Booking blood tests 2. (blood group and antibodies)

12-13 weeks

  • 1st (early) anomaly scan (also measuring nuchal thickness)
  • Bloods for combined Down syndrome screening test
  • Chorionic villus sampling (if needed and agreed or requested)

14-15 weeks

Examinations offered:

  • Medical checkup
  • Dentistry
  • Dietary advice

16-17 weeks

  • Blood test 4. (AFP)
  • Blood test 5. (toxoplasma and cytomegalovirus antibodies, if needed and/or requested)
  • Amnniocentesis (if needed and agreed or requested)

18-20 weeks

  • Anomaly scan
  • Speculum and internal exam, HVS 2. (if needed and agreed or requested)

21-22 weeks

  • Fetal echocardiography

23-24 weeks

  • Lab tests 1 and 3.
  • Lab test 6 (oral glucose toleranece test, OGTT)

25-26 weeks

  • Doppler ultrasound of fetal and uterine blood vessels

30-32 weeks

  • Growth scan
  • Speculum and internal exam, HVS 3. (if needed and agreed or requested)

33-35 weeks

  • CTG weekly
  • Specialist review fortnightly

35 weeks

  • Lab test 3.
  • Lab test 7. (GBS screen)

36 weeks

  • CTG twice weekly
  • Specialist review weekly (if needed)

38 weeks

  • Growth scan, biophysical profil with Doppler if needed

38-40 weeks

  • CTG every second day, with Doppler if needed

40 weeks

  • CTG daily, with Doppler if needed

41 weeks

  • In-patient admission (the latest)

Postpartum care

6 weeks after delivery: Gynecologic checkup
4-6 weeks after delivery:   paediatric ultrasound (intracranial, abdominal, hip), paediatric cardiology
